TEHRAN - Iraqi Ambassador to Pakistan Khadem Abdul-Hamid Ravi denied a rumor that Baghdad has bought arms including missiles from Iran, the Central News Bureau reported on Monday.

Ravi said that his country has not bought any weapons or ground-to-air missiles from the Islamic Republic of Iran and added that the United States is spreading this rumor.

He went on to say that the U.S. is targeting Islam and Muslims under the pretext of its so-called campaign against terrorism.

He called for solidarity among Muslims across the world and said that Muslim states should be aware that the U.S. will turn against another Muslim state after Iraq.

Ravi ruled out any contact between the Iraqi government and the Al-Qaeda network or the Taleban.
