Baku -- Azeri Ambassador to Iran Abbasali Hasanov announced that the Azeri Consulate in Tabriz would be opened by the end of the year, according to Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB).

The ambassador said that the site for the consulate in Tabriz has already been selected.

The Azeri Consulate in Tabriz is being established according to an agreement between the two countries which also entails the establishment of an Iranian consulate in Nakhichevan.
