Iran, Japan Call For Expansion of Mutual Cooperation

TEHRAN -- Japanese Ambassador to Tehran Takekazu Kawamura conferred here on Tuesday with the Head of Iran-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group Ali-Asghar Rahmani Khalili on expansion of mutual parliamentary relations.

Expressing satisfaction with the expansion of mutual relations in recent years, Rahmani Khalili said that the exchange of visits by political and parliamentary officials of the two countries is a good evidence of deepening Tehran-Tokyo relations.

Underlining the key role of ambassadors in consolidating friendship ties, he called for deepening such relations in all fields, IRNA reported.

Rahmani Khalili, who is a member of the Majlis Industries and Mines Commission, referred to the crucial role of parliaments in broadening relations between nations and called the recent measures of the Iranian Majlis in passing regulations on taxes as well as absorbing foreign investments as suitable steps towards broadening mutual economic cooperation.

Rahmani Khalili invited the Iran-Japan friendship group to pay an official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to the Cultural Bureau and Public Relations Department of Majlis, Takekazu Kawamura expressed satisfaction with the current level of mutual relations and called the crucial role of parliaments in deepening and broadening of ties in recent years.

Highlighting mutual cooperation as well as trade exchange between the two sides, he called for benefiting from untapped potentials and capabilities to help expand economic cooperation between Iran and Japan.
