TEHRAN, Jan. 17 (MNA) – Iran’s parliamentary speaker Ali Larijani has criticized Egypt and Saudi Arabia for their stance on the Gaza tragedy as collective regional efforts are underway to end the Zionist regime’s brutal attacks on the Palestinian people.

Egypt and Saudi Arabia, as two heavyweight Arab states, did not take part in regional summit on Gaza hosted by Qatar on Friday.
However, Larijani said intensive diplomatic efforts in Turkey and Syria are gaining steam in finding a “proper solution” to the Gaza conflict and there is “no need” to visit Egypt.
“There is no need to visit Cairo,” Larijani told the Mehr News Agency in an exclusive interview when asked does he intend to visit Egypt to use his diplomatic weight to help end the Zionist regime’s offensive in Gaza.
Larijani added that he is aware of the direction of talks in Egypt and Syria.
“We are aware of the process of negotiations in Egypt and Damascus and know where the talks are heading,” the top lawmaker remarked.
Larijani took part in the Islamic Inter-parliamentary Union meeting in Istanbul on Wednesday where the delegates agreed on key terms on how to deal with the Zionist regime.
Earlier Larijani had visited Damascus and Beirut where held talks with Syrian and Lebanese leaders as well as some Palestinian resistance leaders including Hamas political chief Khaled Meshaal over the Gaza tragedy.
