Smuggling Gang Busted in Kerman Province

SIRJAN, Kerman Province Commander of Kerman Province Law Enforcement Forces (LEF) Morteza Haj-Baqeri said here Monday that a gang of smugglers was busted in the Sirjan area during an armed operation conducted by the LEF.
He added that the ring leader was killed while two other traffickers were apprehended.
Haj-Baqeri added also 20kg of opium, large cache of ammunition and a vehicle were also seized.
The traffickers, he said, have been active in the area for about 10 years, adding that information provided by the public was instrumental in identifying the smugglers.
In the meantime, some 1,200kg of narcotics were confiscated in Zahedan, Sistan-Baluchestan Province, in the past two days, according to the provincial LEF Commander Brigadier General Nasser Shabani here on Monday.
