ANKARA Number of Iranian tourists visiting Turkey in the January-July period reached 216,595, showing 13.43 percent increase compared to the figure for the same period last year, which stood at 190,944.
Statistics made available to IRNA on Tuesday by the Press Center of Turkish Tourism Ministry in Ankara, noted that only in July, 48,363 Iranian tourists visited Turkey. The figure showed 18 percent increase compared to the figure for the corresponding period of the previous year.
Iranian tourists mostly head for Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and the Mediterranean littoral port cities in Turkey. Antalya and Bursa, were among other cities visited by Iranian tourists.
