STUTTGART, Germany -- Swiss riders Bruno Risi and Franco Marvulli won the men's madison world title at the track cycling world championships on Sunday.

The Swiss pair scored 13 points and gained a lap to take the gold medal.

Only New Zealand and Argentina finished on the same lap with New Zealand taking the silver thanks to better placings in the sprints contested during the race, Reuters reported.

It was Switzerland's first world title in the madison.
