Letters of Iranian Reporters Handed Over to Their Families
The families who had held their breath regarding the health of Saeed and Soheil were relieved by the news. With the enduring efforts of the Red Crescent Society and Red Cross the letters containing information on the health of the Iranian reporters were handed over to the families on Thursday August 7.
The Red Crescent Society is trying to provide a means for the families to visit the reporters through Red Cross international committee. The Red Cross delegates visited Aboutaleb and Karimi on July 30.
U.S. troops on July 1 arrested two reporters, Soheil Karimi and Saeid Aboutaleb, an interpreter, and a driver of Channel 2 of Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) organization near the town of Diwaniyah as they were filming a documentary.
