Iranian Music Group Rules Over Eastern Songs Festival

TEHRAN (Mehr News Agency) -- The Iranian music group, Saba took the best prize of the 4th International Festival of Eastern Songs held on August 24-30 in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, said advisor for international affairs in the Music Center.
"Songs of Fazel Jamshidi in Saba Group conducted by Morteza Zarrinshad were widely acclaimed in the festival," added Farzin Pirouzpey.
Twenty-two music groups from Iran, Russia, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Greece, Hungary, Afghanistan, and Turkey competed in the festival.
Siavash Einipour Afzali (tar), Reza Mahini (daf and tonbak), Pejman Pourhosseini (setar), and Hamidreza Pourafzal (santour) were other members of Saba Group.
There are three Iranian music groups have named themselves after the Iranian music master Abolhassan Saba, who lived in 1903-1957.
