TEHRAN (Mehr News Agency) - "The International Day of Qods is important, not only to Palestinians and Lebanese, but also to freedom-loving nations that struggle for the establishment of international security," said the Lebanese ambassador to Iran here on Thursday.

Lebanese Ambassador Adnan Mansour told the Mehr News Agency, "On the International Day of Qods, millions of people throughout the world hold rallies in support of the Palestinians and to state that Qods must be liberated from the Zionist occupation. "These rallies show that Palestinians are very determined to liberate Qods and reject any Israeli occupation. Qods must be returned to its original owners, although the campaign against the occupiers could take a long time." Mansour said, “International Day of Qods rallies prove that solidarity with the Palestinians and opposition to the Zionist regime is a universal and permanent issue and that Zionists must stop their expansionist activities in Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria." He claimed that holding rallies on Qods Day can help stop the Zionists’ expansionist activities, saying, "These rallies are effective, since they are warnings to Israel."

The Lebanese ambassador stated that the Palestinian resistance will eventually become victorious, although the campaign against the Zionists might take a long time. In his opinion, Qods Day rallies are an important part of the Palestinian resistance.

"Imam Khomeini’s call for an International Day of Qods was an international call," he added.

He went on to say that the International Day of Qods was the only day which reminded the world about the Zionist crimes in Palestine. He added that Zionists started a war to evict the Palestinians and started building settlements in order to invite all Jews from all over the world to live in Palestine, although Palestine has been the Palestinians’ homeland for centuries. He stressed that the issue of Qods would never be forgotten, saying, "The Lebanese keep the International Day of Qods alive every year."
