BERLIN (IRNA) -- Mehdi Mahdavikia was named into the Bundesliga Team of the Week by the renowned Kicker sports magazine on Monday following his top performance during Hamburg's 2-1 victory over Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich.

Mahdavikia who was also selected as Player of the Match, gave the assist on the winning header by fellow teammate Nigel de Jong in the 89th minute.

The Iranian star has so far been voted five times in the weekly all-star Bundesliga team.

Hamburg is currently placed third in the Bundesliga with 50 points out of 24 games.
