BERLIN (Makfax) – German Federation of Trade and Industry Enterprises remains steadfastly opposed to eventual economic sanctions against Iran, German newspaper Di Welt said.

Economic sanction are counterproductive, such move will force the people pledge solidarity with the government," Federation chief Ludwig Georg Brawn said, adding that the eventual embargo by the United States would be ineffective as it was the case with Iraq.

This is an expected reaction from German companies given the fact that Iran, where the profits go up as high as 4.5 billion euros, is the largest market to which German product are being exported. The Near and Middle East countries are the final destinations of these products.
