TEHRAN (PIN) – Director of gas supply affairs at the National Iranian Gas Company noted that the company is ready to supply needed primary feedstock to Masjed Soleiman Petrochemical Complex if a contract is signed.

After a report on Masjed Soleiman Petrochemical Complex being in dire straits, Azizollah Ramezani told Petroenergy Information Network that officials of Masjed Soleiman Petrochemical Complex have not signed any contract with National Iranian Gas Company for gas supply and the company is under no obligation to supply the complex with gas.

He stated that if such an agreement is signed, the National Iranian Gas Company will be obliged to supply needed gas to Masjed Soleiman Petrochemical Complex.

Ramezani stated that the volume of gas to be supplied as well as gas price will be determined by a fuel coordination committee at planning department of the National Iranian Gas Company.

“Our company is facing no problem for gas supply to Masjed Soleiman Petrochemical Complex and will act according to directive of the said committee,” he added.

Chairman of board of directors of Masjed Soleiman Petrochemical Complex had recently warned that the project will stop before the end of the current year due to problems related to feedstock.

Ali Taraqijah told Petroenergy Information Network that the main snag preventing continuation of the project is supplying needed feedstock.
