TEHRAN (IRNA) -- Majlis Speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel here Sunday said observance of discipline and use of advanced weaponry were among great achievements of a military maneuver recently staged by Iran in the Hormuz Strait.

Addressing Majlis open session, Haddad-Adel termed as successful the maneuver dubbed ‘Great Prophet Mohammad (PBUH)’.

"I congratulate the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and commanders of the armed forces and the Islamic Revolution's Guards Corps on successful staging of the military exercise.

"There were international reactions to use of advanced weaponry in the maneuver. It attracted attention of political and military circles throughout the world.

"Such weapons have been made by Iranian forces which shows promotion of technological know-how and military industries," he said.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the speaker condemned recent bombings in a Shia mosque in Baghdad and expressed his deep regret over the tragic event.

Various Conspiracies such as bombings are now underway against the Iraqi nation while the U.S. has increased its pressure on the Iraqi statesmen, he said.

"The Iraqi Shiites will show patience vis-à-vis such events. The Iraqi nation is vigilant towards such plots and will resist," the speaker added.
