TEHRAN (ISNA) – Iran will start the manufacture of CKD Mercedes-Benz E-Class by June 2006.

Mercedes-Benz production is currently at SKD phase. A 30 member board from Daimler Chrysler will come to Iran in June.

Although Daimler Chrysler seems to be approaching Iran's market with a bit of hindrance, the odds that this company would leave this market seem pretty low.

This of course would be because of to Iran's heavy machinery market which Mercedes has pretty much covered.

Just last year this company manufactured 6500 trucks in Iran, exported directly 600 Spinster model trucks and 100 cars. Obviously this would be without considering the approximately 1000 vehicles that were exported indirectly to Iran.

This company up to now has held a series of sessions so to determine its policy regarding Iran; these sessions have been mostly on the recent matters and the appearance of new competition.
