Bayern chasing Brazilian-born pair
Popular newspaper Bild claimed that Bacrelona's Brazilian-born Portugal playmaker Deco is top of Bayern general manager Uli Hoeness's summer shopping list while former player Ze Roberto told Munchner Abendzeitung that he would relish a return to the Bavarian capital.
Hoeness was in Barcelona for a G14 meeting, grouping the 18 most rich and powerful teams in Europe.
Hoeness tried to bring Deco to Munich from Porto in 2004 but the diminutive midfielder opted for the sun of Spain instead.
He is said however to be unhappy with his role in the team under Dutch boss Frank Rijkaard.
But with Bayern certain to finish fourth in their domestic league and missing out on Champions League qualification next season, it is doubtful that they will be able to attract a player of Deco's stature.
The Bavarian press, distraught by Bayern's worst season in 10 years, have been linking Munich with a number of high-profile striker signings, including Werder Bremen's Miroslav Klose and Fiorentina's Luca Toni.
Klose is certain of Champions League football next season if he stays at Bremen, though, while Toni could yet join Fiorentina in that competition as they make a late season charge for Europe having overcome a debilitating 15-point penalty at the season's start.
One player who may join the club is Ze Roberto who only left Bayern last close season.
"That idea pleases me and I'm delighted that Bayern want me again," Ze Roberto told Munchner Abendzeitung.
However, the 32-year-old has been one of the players of the season for Santos in his homeland since returning to Brazil after eight seasons in Germany, first with Bayer Leverkussen and then Bayern.
The Sao Paulo club's fans have even started an online petition urging him to stay with them.
Bayern are thought to want to sign eight or nine players this summer and have around 120 million euros (162,000m dollars) to spend, according to reports.
They are particularly keen on strengthening their midfield having lost Michael Ballack and Ze Roberto last summer, with Owen Hargreaves almost certain to join Manchester United this summer and with Sebastien Deisler having retired in January.
