TEHRAN (IRNA) -- The specialist from Department of Environment (DoE) for international and Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) affairs, Azadeh Khaman, here Wednesday said that the 4th meeting of the ECO environmental working group will be held in Tehran on May 21.

She told IRNA that the two-day meeting aiming to focus on cooperation between ECO members and Department of Environment will be attended by environmental experts and representatives of the member states' ministers of environment.

The second meeting of ECO member states' ministers of environment was held in Turkey in early fall of 2004 and the decisions taken there will be reviewed in the upcoming session.

"Three projects in the field of marine environment, three in natural environment and two one environmental training to be organized by Iran were approved by the environment ministers attending the second ECO ministers meeting, which will be discussed in the 4th Tehran meeting.

"During the 4th ECO environmental meeting, the reports of Iran, Turkey and Pakistan on establishment of the "ECO Environment College", on which the member states had reached agreement, will also be examined," added the expert.

She noted that meanwhile, increasing the volume of ECO bulletin will also be on the agenda of the upcoming meeting.

"The ECO Secretariat is expected to call on the member states to submit their environmental progress reports on time and keep the other members posted on their latest environmental achievements.

"Besides, Iran will submit its 'Environment and Ecotourism' initiative at the meeting for the first time," added Khaman.

She noted that according to the document drawn up by ECO, each of the member states is committed to work in one particular field and submit its relevant six-month performance report to the ECO secretariat.
