Mottaki wishes new Iraqi govt. success

TEHRAN -- In a meeting with Iraqi Ambassador Mohammad Majid al-Sheikh here on Sunday, Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki expressed hope that the formation of the new Iraqi cabinet would lead to the establishment of security in the country.
“We consider it (the approval of the cabinet) an important step toward creating a democratic ruling system comprising all political, ethnic, and religious groups,” Mottaki added.
Expressing pleasure over recent developments in Iraq, the foreign minister stated that Iran wishes the new Iraqi administration success and hopes it will be able to take great strides in establishing security in the country.
Mottaki also announced that Iran is prepared to assist Iraq by hosting a meeting of the foreign ministers of Iraq’s neighbors.
For his part, the Iraqi ambassador to Tehran elaborated on the new developments in the Iraqi cabinet and expressed gratitude for Tehran’s support of Iraq’s new national unity government.
