TEHRAN – The first L90 automobile rolled off Pars Khodro’s assembly line on Wednesday.

Iran’s Pars Khodro and France’s Renault signed the final amended version of the contract for production of the model on the same day.

The first L90 passenger car is expected to go through Renault’s standard get-up-and-go checks for three weeks while the second and third will be put through measurement and impact tests. Then 200 L90s will be manufactured within the next two months for final quality control and assessment of factory workers’ proficiency.

Pars Khodro’s modern plant, constructed 18 kilometers west of Tehran in a record 14 months, is scheduled to begin mass production of the L90 model by early September. Each of the two floors of the factory covers an area of 25,000 square meters.
