TEHRAN (Fars News Agency) – Azerbaijan Republic has decided to import an annual volume of one billion cubic meters of natural gas from Iran to supply fuel to its power plants.

Azeri experts have already conducted the feasibility studies needed for the import of an annual volume of one billion cubic meters of natural gas from Iran.

Azerbaijani government has said that it needs the gas to supply fuel for Ali Bayramali power plant.

The agreement has been signed during a meeting of the two countries' Presidents.

Meanwhile, Azerbaijan intends to also increase the volume of its gas imports from Iran for the autonomous state of Nakhichevan.
