TEHRAN (ISNA) – Iran is to closely control the quality of the tea cargos it imports mostly from South Asia. The quality of Iranian-made tea will be also controlled more carefully.

Iran from the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21) has sent back 5 cargos of tea due to low quality to Sri Lanka and India.

"In the previous year we imported 49 cargos of tea of which six cargos were sent back due to the fact that they did not meet our standards," an official with the Iran Standardization and Industrial Research Institute (ISIRI) said on Monday.

"Since March 21 this year we have imported 87 cargos of which 5 have been sent back," he added.
