Palestinian state will definitely be established: Leader
“Through resistance and perseverance, the return of Palestinian lands to Palestinians and the formation of a Palestinian state on this land are possible, and this will definitely happen,” the Leader told Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniya in a meeting.
The Supreme Leader stated that it is a divine sign that about 60 years of efforts to send the Palestinian issue into oblivion and eradicate the name of this “Islamic land” have failed. Pointing to the difficult days that the Palestinians experienced in the first decades of the occupation, when there was no support from Arab states and there were serious efforts to disperse the Palestinian people to other countries, the Leader noted, “Despite all these efforts and after the passage of about 60 years, motivation and Palestinian identity are stronger than ever among the Palestinian people.”
Referring to the divine promise, Ayatollah Khamenei stated, “The Palestinian people have been advancing every day, and I am certain that one day this land will be administered by Palestinians.”
He went on to say that resistance is the driving factor behind the great achievements of the Palestinians, despite all the terrible events and pressure.
“The Palestinian government, with regard to the principles that it has stated and insists upon, enjoys the full support of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” the Leader declared.
He also called the Palestinians’ resistance “exemplary” in the history of Islam. “With such a spirit and mentality, the Palestinian nation and government will definitely succeed, and there is no doubt about that.”
The Palestinian prime minister said he was very happy to meet the Supreme Leader and called Iran the true supporter of the Palestinian people. Referring to the efforts of the late Imam Khomeini to revive the Palestinian cause in the Islamic world, especially through the decision to establish the International Day of Qods, Haniya said, “Your Excellency (the Supreme Leader) also continues the path of Imam Khomeini because you have always supported the people of Palestine, and I hope we will meet in Al-Aqsa Mosque in the near future.”
The Islamic Revolution of Iran has had a great effect on Islamic revivalism, especially in Palestine, the Palestinian prime minister maintained.
“The generation that is standing against the Zionists today and that has created the first and second Intifada are youths with great motivation, and this generation will liberate Palestine.
“The Palestinian issue is an Islamic issue, and Palestine is an Islamic land, and therefore no person or government in Palestine has the right to give up an inch of this land,” Haniya said.
Resistance is the only way to liberate Palestine, he stressed.
