Sloganeering is no way to fight economic corruption: MP
“The campaign against economic corruption will not bear fruit unless far-sighted, brave, and firm decisions are made,” the member of the Majlis Economic Committee told the Mehr News Agency.
Much of the corruption is due to lack of initial supervision, favoritism, and the interference of rich and powerful people in economic decision-making and planning processes, he added.
Commenting on the proposal to form a new fundamentalist faction in the parliament called the Creative Fundamentalists, Khoshchehreh said that it is necessary to establish a critical and independent faction to save fundamentalism in the Majlis.
“For instance, the MPs’ vote to hold the presidential and parliamentary elections simultaneously can not be justified in any way,” Khoshchehreh opined.
The Iranian parliament on Tuesday approved a bill to hold the 10th presidential and 8th parliamentary elections simultaneously, but the Guardian Council has not yet given the bill final approval.
Improving the performance of the fundamentalists will be one of the new faction’s prime goals, he noted.
