TEHRAN – Nation’s annual industrial exports could hit $25b figure within 20-Year Outlook Plan by providing enhanced investment conditions and due support, MP Seyyed Hossein Hashemi told the Persian service of ISNA here on Wednesday.

“Domestic industry is the only sector which can help us in the employment sector while keeping a tab on inflation,” the head of Industries and Mines Committee at Majlis stated, stipulating that productivity in non-oil industry has not been perceived as a ‘value’ yet.

Referring to a 5.72 percent increase in last year’s industrial imports, Hashemi added that over 90 percent of advertising in this field goes to the foreign brands, creating difficult setting for proper presentation of domestic products.

Nevertheless, the industry has demonstrated its capabilities in some areas like spare parts production.

“We have a sizable income from oil exports, but it is imperative to know that this national treasure belongs to all generations and we ought to invest in other fields like production as well,” he noted.
