TEHRAN -- Thirty Iranian books participating in the first Croatian Biennial of Illustration (June 6-July 30) have been introduced in the biennial’s catalogue.

One section of the catalogue, bearing the picture of Iran’s flag, has been dedicated to works by Iranians, the Mehr News Agency reported on Wednesday.

The section begins with an article written by Shabaviz Publications managing director Farideh Khalatbari entitled “The Art of Illustration in Iran” in Croatian and English followed by the list of illustrators and books.

Works by illustrators Negin Ehtesabian (“Road” written by Mohammadreza Shams), Amin Hassanzadeh (“Hunters of the Moon” by Mohammadreza Shams), Sharareh Khosravani (“Grandchild and Grandpa” by Mohammadreza Yusefi), and Ali Namvar (“Circle” by Farideh Khalatbari) are some of the Iranian works reproduced in the catalogue.

In addition, ten of the books were submitted to the biennial by the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA).

The First Croatian Biennial of Illustration was organized in collaboration with the Croatian Section of the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY).
