EU's Solana condemns bomb attacks in Turkey
"I strongly condemn the bomb attacks committed on Sunday and Monday in Turkey," he said in a statement. "I wish to extend my condolences to the Turkish government and my heartfelt sympathy to the families of the victims. My thoughts are also with all those who were injured in those senseless acts of violence."
On Monday, the European Commission, the executive body of the EU, also condemned the attacks.
"I condemn this wave of barbaric and cowardly attacks which occurred in the past 24 hours in Turkey," said EU enlargement commissioner Olli Rehn in a statement. "Nothing justifies such violence resulting in the deaths of innocent people."
He also extended condolences to the families of the victims and to the Turkish people on behalf of the commission.
In a separate statement, Finland, which holds the rotating EU presidency, also condemned the attacks and hoped those responsible will be brought to justice.
On Sunday night, a blast jolted Turkey's largest city of Istanbul, injuring six Turks.
On Monday, three bomb explosions hit Turkey's southern resort area of Marmaris, injuring 10 British tourists and 11 Turks, and another rocked the southern Turkish resort city of Antalya, killing at least two and injuring six others.
