Markazi Province chambers of commerce, Thailand ink MOU

TEHRAN – A cooperation agreement was signed on Wednesday between chambers of commerce of the Iranian Markazi Province and Thailand during a ceremony attended by Iranian and Thai officials.

According to this agreement that was signed after a one-day visit of the Thai economic and scientific delegation from the capabilities of the province in Arak and Saveh, bilateral economic, trade, industrial, scientific and agricultural cooperation will be increased between Iran and Thailand.

During a meeting between the Thai delegation and the governor of Markazi Province, Abdullah Sohrabi said that friendly political relations between Tehran and Bangkok necessitate the establishment of economic and trade relations between the two countries as well.

Pointing to religious affinities between the two countries, Sohrabi said that this commonality can help develop bilateral relations between the two countries more than ever before.

He also said that Markazi Province is one of the biggest agricultural and industrial provinces in Iran and said that independence-seeking countries should know that they can establish relations with friendly countries and live without dependence on the United States.

Sohrabi noted that Tehran welcomes all opportunities to boost relations with Bangkok.

The governor of Markazi Province stated that Iran is a powerful country in the region and world, saying that resolute resistance has had eye-catching achievements and paved the way for the independence and self-sufficiency of the Islamic Republic.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Sohrabi said that the capabilities of Markazi Province is a proper ground for developing trade and economic relations with Thailand and observed “the capabilities and capacities of Markazi Province are fully displayed in the foreign exhibitions and the internationalization of the Arak Airport has paved the way for exports.”

Head of the Thai Chamber of Commerce for his part underlined the significance of developing ties with Iran and said his country was interested in developing industrial and agricultural cooperation with Iran in the future.

He also expressed satisfaction over his visits from the scientific, agricultural and industrial capacities of Markazi Province, sating that satisfactory negotiations have been held between the two countries with regards to dietary, agricultural, industrial, scientific and cultural interactions.

In conclusion, he referred to his country’s support for Iran’s involvement in nuclear activities for peaceful purposes.
