LUSAKA (AFP) -- Zambians will enjoy a public holiday on September 28 to enable maximum turnout in the country's general elections, the government announced Friday.
"The decision is aimed at enabling as many Zambians as possible to cast their votes in the tripartite elections," Cabinet secretary Joshua Kanganja said.
A total of 3.9 million Zambians are entitled to vote in the elections for a new president, parliament and municipalities.
