TABRIZ, East Azarbaijan Prov. (IRNA) -- The prospect of cooperation between the capital of this northwestern province and Croatia was on the agenda of a meeting between Croatian Ambassador to Iran Marjan Kombol and governor general of East Azarbaijan province, Mohammad Memarzadeh.

At the meeting, Memarzadeh referred to the potentials and capacities of the province in economic, trade, scientific and tourism fields, and said that his country gives special priority to expansion of relations and communication with various countries.

"Given that a great number of major industrial, higher education and tourist centers are located in East Azarbaijan province, broader cooperation and ties between the two sides in all fields is unavoidable," he added.

He declared the readiness of the city of Tabriz for cooperation between the private sectors of the two sides in different fields.

For his part, Kombol expressed the interest of his country in cooperation with Iran, in particular Tabriz.

Turning to East Azarbaijan as one of Iran's most significant industrial provinces, he said that Croatia is fully prepared to bolster collaboration and exchange of information with the province. "Given that Croatia is one of the world most important tourist hubs, it is ready to cooperate with East Azarbaijan in the field."
