TEHRAN -- Top presidential advisor Mojtaba Samareh-Hashemi heads to Japan today, according to a joint press statement by Iran and Japan that was issued on Wednesday.

During his two-day trip, Samareh-Hashemi is to hold talks with senior Japanese officials, the statement added.
