TEHRAN -- Japanese photographer Yukako Amami’s works on Iranian historical attractions were put on display in an exhibition that opened at Tokyo’s Kubota Gallery on Thursday.
She took the photos during her recent sojourn in Iran, the Persian service of IRNA reported on Saturday.
“My interest in photography inspires me to tour countries throughout the world, and Iran was one of these places,” Amami said.
She has traveled to 63 countries so far. She was deeply affected by Iran’s ancient and historical grandeur, and particularly by her visit to Persepolis.
“Japanese people are generally familiar with the grandeur of the Persian civilization, and these photos remind them of this splendor,” Amami noted.
“The exhibition has been warmly welcomed, and I hope these photos encourage Japanese people to travel to Iran,” she added.
The exhibition runs until December 10.
