ID tags to be attached to exported Persian carpets
Given that among other problems, Iranian hand-woven rugs and carpets suffer a lack of identity too, implementation of the quality control plan recently suggested by Iran’s Hand-Woven Rugs Development Co. will be very effective in boosting the product’s position among its other rivals at the international markets, noted the company managing director.
The identification cards or tags will contain all the necessary data concerning the general and physical characteristics of the rug in particular the assessment of the dye stability for each color on the face and back of each individual rug ISNA news agency quoted Soleiman Madadpur as saying on Tuesday.
The quality control plan is scheduled to be carried out in three different phases across the country. The first phase will be conducted in Tehran, the second phase, in the four major hand-woven rug producer provinces of the nation and, the third phase is planned to be executed in 20 other provinces of the country.
