TEHRAN - On Tuesday, a Judiciary official dismissed reports that former nuclear negotiator Hossein Musavian had been freed, but said Musavian would be released on bail today during a special ceremony attended by reporters.

Earlier, the Judiciary spokesman announced that Musavian and a number of detained teachers would soon be released on bail.

Musavian was arrested a few days ago but no charges were announced. At the time, he was serving as the deputy chairman of the Expediency Council’s Center for Strategic Studies.

The Majlis National Security Committee has summoned the intelligence minister to explain the circumstances of the arrest of Musavian, who once served as Iranian ambassador to Germany.
