Rationing saves over 20m liters of gasoline per day: MP

TEHRAN (PIN) – Deputy chairman of the Majlis Energy Commission announced that more than 20 million liters of gasoline are saved on a daily basis due to the enforcement of the rationing system.

Nasser Sudani told Petroenergy Information Network that recent figures show that daily gasoline consumption has decreased by more than 20 million barrels compared to the corresponding period of the preceding year.
He expressed hope that the administration will be able to spend the saved money on development of the public transportation.
The MP said that using smart cards has enabled the government to closely monitor gasoline consumption throughout the country
