Persepolis signs Qotbi as manager

TEHRAN – Afshin Qotbi signed a one-year contract with the popular Iranian football club Persepolis Friday.

Qotbi is scheduled to arrive here next week to take the helm of Tehran-based team.
After being born in Iran and moving to America when he was 13, the 43-year-old Qotbi has three World Cups under his belt.
Qotbi was the assistant of South Korea manager Pim Verbeek in the 14th Asian Cup.
Persepolis stood third at the Iran Pro League last season
