TEHRAN (PIN) – Bangestan wells of Ahvaz oilfield in southern Iran could at least produce 15,000 barrels more per day as the artificial extraction methods were applied successfully.
Head of Research and Development Department of National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) said the project was implemented through 15 month efforts of researchers of Amir Kabir University of Technology and NISOC experts.Ahmad Ataii added the project was simulated and analyzed by using Wellflow software and progressed well through using licensed software.
The official said more than 140 research projects including geology, reserve engineering, drilling, exploitation engineering, oil and gas processing, health, safety, and the environment (HSE), industrial protection, productivity, human resources, engineering, and construction had been so far defined by the NISOC and experts groups.
The NISOC managing director said comprehensive studies on four oilfields would be conducted by the end of current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2008).
Seifollah Jashnsaz told PIN the fields were Haftkal, Ramshir, Mansuri, and Aghajari.
According to him, over 90 percent of comprehensive study on Haftkal had been made and studies on Ramshir, Mansuri, and Aghajari fields had made more than 50, 57, and 60 percent progress respectively.
He said the studies on three more reserves would kick off this year and some fields were undergoing geological tests.
“The project to construct a gas injection station at the Aghajari oilfield is scheduled to come on stream in October 2007,” said Jashnsaz.
“The project is now 90 percent complete and it is due to become operational in October,” he said.
The official said the station would be used for injecting the gas produced from South Pars phases 6-8 into the Aghajari oilfield.
Two billion cubic feet of natural gas would be conveyed from these phases to the field via a 56 inch, 500km-long pipeline, he added.
NISOC is a subsidiary of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), operating on onshore oil and gas fields in southern Iran
