TEHRAN, Aug. 15 (MNA) -- The value of Iran-Japan underway projects in the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2007) stands at 9.5 billion dollars, promising a brisk bilateral trade, said Iranian ambassador to Tokyo Wednesday.

Japan invests 3.5 billion dollars in the phases 6-8 of South Pars field, added Mohsen Talaii on the sidelines of a visit to Arak industrial facilities, vowing that Iran’s gas exports will soar to a great deal and exports problems will be ironed out when the trio come on stream.
The trade volume between Iran and Japan goes above 12 billion dollars, said Talaii, adding 650 thousand barrels of oil out of two million Iran exports are shipped to Japan, 40 percent of the whole volume.
Iran and Japan have profound cultural relations, said the official.
“States with age-old cultural records like Iran and Japan are at heights and could understand each other,” said the ambassador, adding the belligerent U.S. with a 300-year history lacks cultural spirit although it claims to bring civilization.
