TEHRAN (PIN) – The managing director of Oil Engineering and Development Company (OEDC) Saturday announced that the French giant Total would fully implement the development plan of Iranian oilfield Dorud 3 by September 22.

Mehdi Bazargan told PIN that gas injection into the field had started and if the field had the capacity for injection, it would be delivered to the employer, Oil Engineering and Development Company.
He said water and gas were injected into the field separately and therefore their impacts on oil output would emerge little by little.
Total had predicted that Dorud 3 field would produce 85 thousand barrels of oil per day, but the goal was not achieved, recalled the official, adding the French company had managed to derive 45 thousand barrels by drilling wells daily.
He said if the predicted output were not produced, the contractor would be fined.
Dorud oilfield is one of the three vast fields of Kharg Island. During the past 40 years, the field has undergone two development operations and the third stage of development is underway in collaboration with Total
