Iran, UNIDO to set up SPX club

TEHRAN – Iran’s Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines (ICCIM) and United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) will establish Subcontracting and Partnership Exchange (SPX) club, the ICCIM head announced here on Wednesday.

Mohammad Nahavandian added that the parties’ collaboration will be on private sector and agencies.
Referring to the Iranian economic organizations’ capabilities, he blamed the lack of an information network for the sector’s pale presence in global economic arena.
The official referred to the other fields of cooperation as holding seminars and training workshops.
Wexi Gong, the UNIDO representative in Iran, underlined the need of country’s private sector for ICCIM support.
Islamic Chamber Research and Information Center (ICRIC) has had a SPX club in ICCIM since three years ago, head of ICCIM said, ding the center’s responsibility is to network the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) member states’ information.
UNIDO'S primary objective is the promotion and acceleration of industrial development in developing countries and countries with economies in transition.
Pointing to the organization’s fields of activity as private sector, occupation, and the environment, he added that “we have to spot common areas of cooperation to boost the related relations
