UNIDO eager to boost cooperation with Iran

TEHRAN – The United Nations Industrial Development Organization’s (UNIDO) representative Weixi Gong here on Wednesday voiced the body’s readiness to strengthen cooperation with Iran.

Small- and medium-sized industries, agriculture, energy conservation, pollution control, and the environment protection are the main fields of cooperation between Iran and UNIDO, said Mohammad-Hossein Bassiri, an Industries and Mines Ministry official.
Referring to the sides’ 30 years of collaboration, the ministry’s mineral affairs and industrial development deputy added that the country has carried out over 100 projects and held 71 expert-level sessions in the three decades.
The organization is financially supported by its 172 members and some development organizations.
