TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki and his French counterpart Bernard Kouchner held talks on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

The two chief diplomats also exchanged views about Tehran-Paris ties.
France has been one of the main parties involved in Iran’s nuclear standoff with the West. It has toughened its stance toward Iran over its nuclear program since Nicholas Sarkozy took the power.
Since the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear activities has been proven to all, it is time for the UN Security Council to revise its policy toward Iran, Mottaki said.
The Security Council should allow the International Atomic Energy Agency to announce its technical views about Iran’s nuclear program free from any pressure by major powers, he stated.
The French foreign minister also expressed hope Iran’s cooperation with the IAEA would continue until all concerns are allayed and Iran obtains its legitimate rights.
The two sides also talked about recent developments in Lebanon and Palestine
