TEHRAN – The visiting energy, oil, and housing ministers of the Democratic Republic of the Congo met with Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad here on Monday.

The president said the Iranian and Congolese nations are “friends and brothers” who share common interests and enemies.
The enemies of the two nations do not want to see the progress of independent countries, he said, adding, “So utilization of potentials and bilateral cooperation between the two countries can thwart the plots of enemies.”
Congolese Energy Minister Salomon Banamuhere said that he had constructive talks with Iranian officials and gave warm compliments of Congolese President Joseph Kabila to Ahamadinejad.
Iran and Congo share many common stances on international issues, he noted.
