Polish, Swedish FMs discuss Baltic region cooperation

WARSAW (Xinhua) -- Polish Foreign minister Radoslaw Sikorski and his Swedish counterpart Carl Bildt met to discuss cooperation in the Baltic sea region, the ratification of the Lisbon Treaty and economic cooperation.
The two ministers also discussed the situation in Afghanistan and the Balkans, according to Polish news agency PAP.At a joint press conference Sikorski assured that Polish-Swedish relations are excellent. ""We have a common approach towards a number of issues. We are in favor of further enlargement of the EU. We are of the opinion that the strategy for the Baltic sea is an important priority of the EU,"" said Sikorski.
Bildt, who arrived in Warsaw for a one-day working visit, said some 800 companies that operate in Poland employ 100,000 people. ""We are developing a very good bilateral cooperation, we have a common approach towards the future of the EU,"" he said.
Sikorski and Bildt also took part in a debate at the Polish-Swedish Parliamentary Forum organized by the Parliament and the Swedish Embassy in Poland.
