TEHRAN -- Iran’s ambassador to the UN nuclear watchdog Ali-Asghar Soltanieh who was in Vienna on Saturday held talks with Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa over the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program.
“In talks with Amr Moussa, I informed him of the nature of Iran’s nuclear activities and Iran’s answers to all false information about the Islamic Republic’s nuclear objectives. The explanations projected the real image of Iran’s nuclear activities,” Beirut-based Arabic daily Al-Safir quoted Soltanieh as saying. He said the Arab League secretary general expressed support for Iran’s right to a peaceful nuclear technology and stressed that the nuclear dispute should be resolved through cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
London-based Al-Sharq al-Awsat had earlier quoted Moussa as saying that Israel and not Iran poses the real threat to the region’s security. He had asserted that no report on the alleged military application of Tehran’s nuclear program has so far been produced
