TEHRAN – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Wednesday called for a massive turnout in Friday’s runoff parliamentary election, saying, “Voting in principle is a very important duty”.

“Another important obligation is to vote for the most efficient candidates and those who are concerned about people and are ready to cooperate with the government, judiciary, and other branches,” Ayatollah Khamenei said in a meeting with exemplary workers alongside officials from the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
He expressed appreciation for the active participation of people in the first round of legislative election on March 14, stating that a huge turnout in the runoff election will once again demonstrate Iranian’s “inexhaustible motivation” in the face of the West’s propaganda campaign to discourage people from turning out for elections.
The Supreme Leader warned against efforts by the U.S. and Zionist regime to create division among the Iranian nation, urging people to remain vigilant, preserve unity, and avoid conflicts.
“The hegemonic U.S. system and evil Zionist network have got frustrated by their failure to combat Iranians in practice; therefore they have turned to provoking controversy and making accusations,” he noted
