Bushehr Iranology Department honors Persian Gulf researcher

TEHRAN – The Bushehr Department of the Iranology Foundation paid tribute to the Persian Gulf expert and researcher Hassan Zanganeh in a ceremony held in commemoration of the Persian Gulf National Day on Thursday.

Zanganeh is a prominent Busheher-based researcher who has authored and translated several invaluable books on the Persian Gulf.
Speaking at the ceremony, department director Abdolkarim Mashayekhi said that the Bushehr department was established in 1996 and has since published 29 volumes of books on the Persian Gulf.
He went on to say that the Persian Gulf has become a national unity issue and many scholars from around the globe are carrying out researches on the history of the Persian Gulf.
“Several Achaemenid palaces in Bushehr Province and other historical evidence prove that Iranians have always had a strong presence in the region,” he explained.
Mashayekhi also asked the officials to hold more national and international seminars and congresses on the Persian Gulf to promote a greater understanding of this national issue.
Zanganeh also delivered a short speech and said that the Bushehr Persian Gulf studies center is one of the most active research centers of Iran, adding, “The latest findings of the center on the Persian Gulf is shared with the leading scholars of the world and they frequently cite reference to these articles in their publications.
