Hadadi breaks Asian discus thrower record

HENGELO, Netherlands -- Iranian discus thrower Ehsan Hadadi has broken the Asian record at the FBK-Games, which was held in Hengelo, Netherlands, on Saturday.
He has broken the Asian record with a personal best throw of 68.52 meters. Olympic gold medalist Gerd Kanter of Estonia came second with 68.25 meters and Lithuanian Virgilijus Alekna ranked third with a throw of 66.82 meters.Hadadi bettered his own record by 1.32 meters. The discus thrower won a $ 6,000 cash prize.
Hadadi had clinched the gold medal in the 11th Qatar Athletics Super Grand Prix at Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium in early May. MH/MR
