TEHRAN – President Mahmud Ahmadinejad declared on Wednesday that since the Western powers have failed to achieve their “evil goal” of depriving Iran from its nuclear rights through “military and political threats” they have turned to the strategy of “disappointing” the nation.

Addressing a rally in the western city of Shahr-e Kord, Ahmadinejad said, “The enemies are seeking to disappoint the Iranian nation to accomplish the objectives they have failed to fulfill through political and military threats.”
“Today the Iranian nation is standing on the nuclear height” despite all “sanctions and psychological operations to divert the Iranian nation from its path,” the president stated.
Led by the United States, the West has been pressuring Iran to give up its legal right to nuclear energy.
As a signatory to the non-proliferation regime, Iran is legally entitled to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes.
The U.S. has not even ruled out military attacks against Iran for its nuclear program.
Ahmadinejad said U.S. President George “Bush’s era has ended and he does not have the courage and ability to harm even a centimeter of Iran’s soil.”
Under a U.S. influence, the UN Security Council has slapped two rounds of economic sanctions against Tehran for refusing to stop its uranium enrichment program.
“With God’s help today (the Iranian nation) have gained victory and the enemies cannot do a damned thing.”
“They’ve tried by military threats ... and political pressure to stop you from your luminous path but today they have seen that all their planning has failed,” Ahmadinejad observed
