RASHT – Fourteen trillion rials (some $1.5 billion) out of the budget saved through petrol rationing has been allocated for road building projects, the minister of roads and transportation stated Friday.

During his visit to the Rasht-Qazvin freeway project site Thursday evening, Mohammad Rahmati added the figure should have been 60 trillion rials according to the enactment of the parliament, but the budget got cut to the announced amount in order to spend the balance on curbing the high inflation rate
