Eshtiaq to perform in honor of Rumi in Turkey

TEHRAN -- Iranian band Eshtiaq will perform four pieces in commemoration of the anniversary of Rumi’s birth at the Mystic Music Festival in Turkey on Tuesday.
The fifth edition of the International Mystic Music Festival is paying tribute to Rumi on the 801st anniversary of his birth. It will continue until September 30 in the central Anatolian province of Konya.
“Cow” to raise funds for children with cancer
TEHRAN -- Hamed Zahmatkesh and Mehdi Farshidi-Sepeher will stage the play “The Cow” in Tehran to raise funds for Iranian children suffering from cancer.
The play will be performed at the Theater Center of the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA) near the Laleh Park from September 24 to 26.
The performances will be sponsored by the Mahak Charity Society.
Cinema Vérité Festival to spotlight Palestinian resistance
TEHRAN -- Iran’s second edition of the Cinéma Vérité Festival will screen Palestinian-themed films on the occasion of sixty years of Palestine’s occupation.
“Arthur Balfour and Me” by Charlotte Cornic, “Welcome to Hebron” by Terje Carlsson, “Drying Up Palestine” by Rima Essa and Peter Snowden and “Hope in a Sling Shot” by Inka stafrace will go on screen at the festival.
The festival will be held in Tehran’s cinema halls of Felestine and Qiam from October 14 through 19.
Fakhteh to give concerts in Astrakhan
TEHRAN -- The Iranian band Fakhteh will give concerts at the Astrakhan Music Festival on October 3 and 4.
Conducted by Reza Musavizadeh, the band will perform pieces composed by Ruhollah Khaleqi, Pejman Parsmehr and Reza Musavijadeh..
